Three of the six Mercedes-Benz 408Ds delivered in spring 1990 carried demountable bodies. 2479M (G925ALM) was photographed outside Victoria Coach Station on 6th September 1993 loaded with a refuse collection body. The clearance beneath the body suggests that a tipping mechanism may be fitted, while part of the sides are enclosed by mesh panels. The roof is canvas.
