Other than during World War 2, tippers have formed a very small part of the service vehicle fleet. A total of 8 Ford D-series vehicles was bought between 1970 and 1981, 2319F (CGT319X) being the last. Photographed on display at the Chiswick Works open day on 2nd July 1983, this was a D1210 model which lasted until 1993. It was replaced by a larger Mercedes-Benz.
