| Athlon Road in Alperton has several places of interest for us. Starting from the Sainsburys end there is the newish Metroline bus garage, then a Metropolitan Police garage where one of the LSCP vans can often be found. Further along is the Golden Tours garage, with a fleet of blue double-deckers used on sightseeing work, and finally at the western end is a large Ford garage which often contains a service vehicle or two awaiting attention. When Dave visited on 29th January 2026, there were three, although they were actually parked in an overflow yard on the north side of Athlon Road. Shown here is TfL Ford Transit Connect crew van 9267F, which has been elusive since it was delivered nearly two years ago. |
