| As usual, Go-Ahead London provided a number of shuttle bus services to the Wimbledon Tennis tournament, which this year started on 29th June. Also as usual, a couple of service vehicles were to be found parked at Wimbledon Station for the duration. This photo shows WK70VCX, a short wheelbase Ford Tourneo Connect minibus, although it could also be classed as an estate car. Acquired in late 2025, it was seen at Orpington (MB), then at Barking, River Road (RR) before seemingly settling at Sydenham (SM). It was unmarked but has now had Go-Ahead logos applied (possibly just for the duration of the tennis). Parked in front, but hard to photograph as there was street furniture in the way, was Nissan NV250 van HG21XSX. Quite a few of these vans have been operated by Go-Ahead London over the past few years, all in unmarked white. HG21XSX did have Go-Ahead London logos in the windscreen, but again these may have been only temporary. The buses used on the tennis services this year were mainly new Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliner double-deckers, like DEL163 seen here. These buses are due to remain in the area afterwards and should convert route 200 from Optare Metrodecker operation. |
